For broadway lovers, Rent would probably rankas one of the best few musicals ever created and ipersonally rank it as my all time favourite.



For those who don't know, Rent is a 1996 Broadwayrock opera tells the story of a group of impoverishedyoung artists and musicians struggling to survive inNew York's Lower East Side in the thriving days ofthe Bohemian East Village, under the shadow of AIDS.



What really makes Rent unique isthat it is a musical that is not afraid tochallenge the boundaries of the norm.

It features an ethnically and sexuallydiverse cast, tackling controversial topicsto a rather traditionally conservative medium.

It won a Tony Award for Best Musical anda Pulitzer Prize among other awards.



Really amazing huh? It really kicks ass!

The music struck a chord with manypeople and the song became a successfulpop song and is often performed on its own.
