A GLAMOUR AFFAIR!Two Fridays ago, the Clique attended TheFrancis Cheong Show, titled In The Beginningat the Singapore Fashion Festival 2008.

BACKSTAGE PREVIEW
Every fashion show demands the most immaculateand timely precision and the many hands that workfrom the shadows are integral to the success of anyshow. The backstage is where most of the workgoes on and this is where the action really is.
The star of the night, Francis Cheong beinginterviewed by the media and the press.
My mom, the "Queen Bee" conducting a final runthrough before the commencement of the show.
Ahh, the many gowns that lay waiting at theracks for their turn to dazzle on the catwalk.
And of course, its models galore, gettingall glammed up for their catwalk stint.

A CLIQUE PRELUDE
Prior to the commencement of the fashion show,all of us arranged to rendezvous at nine at theinformation counter in Ngee Ann City.
Of course, we did take into consideration ofthe notorious punctuality of our fellow peersand those who were on time decided to indulgethemselves on a cam-whoring spree!

By the time everyone was present, thefloodgates into the massive tent were openand we were ushered into the lounge area.

COCKTAIL RECEPTION
The lounge area was much more spaciousand invigorating as compared to last yearand of course, the crowd was much bigger.
There were many famous personalities,influential figures, prominent celebritiesand of course with it being a Francis Cheongevent, the well-heeded tai-tais' (socialites).
After a while, all of us decided to proceedon to the main area and let's just say that theatmosphere was simply overwhelming.
We seated ourselves comfily at Block Dand awaited in anticipation for the firstmodel to strut herself onto the catwalk.
Now, let the show begin!

FRANCIS CHEONG
IN THE BEGINNING

From the very first segment, everyone knewthat this was going to be a hell of a grand theatricalshow as a cast of 10 of the most prominent socialitesin high society opened the show dressed in a collectionof Francis' most stunning black evening gowns yet.
The tai-tais', with no prior experience on thecatwalk, rose to the occasion as they deliveredthemselves and of course, to rousing whoopsof appoval and applause from the audience.
The second segment was where Francis' signatureflamboyance and flair for feminine grace was exemplified.Injecting elements of freshness and vibrancy from thespring floral trend, Francis added a touch of class to hiscolourful collection using Eden’s very own fauna.
The show culminated with Singapore's very owntop model, Sheila Sim, dancing down the walkway in anangelic white wedding gown, gracefully arching her arms tore-enact "Swan Lake" as a loud burst of gold streamersshowered down on her at the end of the walkway.
The show ended on a high note as Francis emergedon stage to rousing applauses and dozens of bouquets fromthe audience as he took a deep bow after a long hard day.
And of course, not forgetting the ensembleof gorgeous models who graced the catwalk!Let's bring them all out once again! Yay!

AFTER-PARTY CELEBRATION
The end of the show was perhaps just the beginningfor many of Francis' patrons as everyone adjournedto the party area to celebrate his 48th birthday.
All of us were more interested with theHaagen Daz ice-cream of course, haha!
Hey! There's Monica simply indulging onher own cup of Haagen Daz! Damn Sinful!

The Rest Of The Gang!
After the candles were blown, that was ourcue to leave the tent as it was nearing midnightand we were complaining of hungry stomachs.We headed off to Hong Kong Cafe forsupper at Orchard Cineleisure beforeeventually calling it a day. Phew!
