A TRADEGY UNFOLDS
If you don't already know, two fridays ago,cyclone Nargis hit the coast of Myanmar,and devastated large parts of the low-lyingdelta region of the Irrawaddy River.

The largest city, Yangon was battered for overten hours by the storm. Homes were flattened, moresturdy structures damaged, trees uprooted and powerlines downed. In rural parts of the country up to95 per cent of all homes were destroyed.

The current death toll has been estimated to bemore than 100,000 and up to 1 million people havebeen displaced from the aftermath of the storm.

The current situation isn't looking rosy and ten dayson, rescue efforts are still having trouble gaining accessto affected areas as well as the flow of aid which is beingimpeded by the government's intervention.

We can only hope for a quick resolution toending this terrible crisis and pray for the peopleof Burma as they go through this difficult time.
