Is That A Bird?

THE DANCING BIRD

OMG! The Japanese are at it again. They're
always so wacky and weird with their outrageous
and well, of course, haha... humorous acts.

She Seriously Can't Stop Laughing...

Come watch this rather naughty prank played
on a girl in a gym. See how this poor lass can't help it,
but be fixated on this wandering guy's... ahem!

---------------------------------------------

WATCH THIS!

I really feel sorry for the poor guy who has
to be so unfortunate to parade, especially in front
of a woman, in such a manner in public!

Way To Go Banana!

Ahh, the things people do in the name of humour.

Iron Chef: Battle Lobster

FOR THE LOVE OF FOOD!

Possessing flair in the culinary arts is
perhaps one of the most respected form of
talent that any one person can possess.

The Culinary Arts

The art of fine cuisine is no mere
child's play, it is taken seriously as an art
form that aims to create magnificent dishes,
tantalizing delicacies and flamboyant cuisines.

Magnificent, Tantalizing, Flamboyant

Let me now introduce you to a venerated
Japanese reality TV cooking show from the
90's that celebrates food in all its glory.

-----------------------------------

WATCH THIS!

Iron Chef was created by FujiTV and hosted by
the eccentric Chairman Kaga on the show, who claims
to be the supreme authority of gourmet cuisine.

Chairman Kaga Of Iron Chef

He was inspired by the culinary arts and
specially constructed the Kitchen Stadium
where chefs from around the world would compete
against chefs from his Gourmet Academy.

The Kitchen Stadium

Four iron chefs lead the institution and
they each specialize in a different kind of cuisine;
Japanese, Chinese, French, and later Italian.

The Iron Chefs

The challenging chefs have one hour to cook
and improvise a multicourse meal around a theme
ingredient that must be present in each dish.

The Iron Chefs Battle!

At the end of the show, each of the chef's creations
are presented a panel of judges who taste the dishes
and award points to the dishes of their liking. The
chef with the greatest score wins the competition.

The Judging Panel

Now, let's start the inaugural entry
to the Iron Chef series with one of my
favourite seafood cuisine, the lobster.

Esteemed chefs, let the battle begin!

-----------------------------------

IRON CHEF: BATTLE LOBSTER
Iron Chef French Hiroyuki Sakai v.s. Challenger Ron Siegel

Iron Chef

Here are the first four parts to this
culinary mêlée where commentators provide
minute-by-minute updates on each chef's
preparation of their respective dishes.

And the highlight of this entry is of course, the
tasting and judging segment of the chefs' creation. Here
you go! Please don't salivate! Thank you very much!

-----------------------------------

AND, SO!

To end this entry, let me leave you with a
quote that perfectly describes this show.

"Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are."

Praying For Good Grades

JAPAN'S annual season of entrance exams
to schools and universities have begun,
similiar to our 'O', 'N' & 'A' Level Exams.
(which thankfully, is over for all of us...)

Japanese Students

To ensure good luck, students and their
parents anxious for good results flock to the
Yushima-Tenjin Shrine in Central Tokyo.

Yushima-Tenjin Shrine

They write down their hopes and wishes for
examination success on small wooden plaques
called "Emma" and hang them en masse in
designated ares within the shrine compund.

Emma Plaques

It is said that the deity at this particular shrine
is known as a Guardian for Scholarship,
bringing good luck to anyone who visits it.

----------------------------------------------

I went there once to wish myself
good grades for my examinations...
among other silly things as well. Lol.

Mom & I

Really damn Kiasu hor?

It was later screened at the
2006 Cannes Film Festival.

Taiyou No Uta

Her 5th single, "Good-bye Days",
was written for this film and is by far her

It's Human Tetris!

THE JAPANESE
ARE CRAZY I TELL YOU!

Crazy Japan

They've invented a crazy way to play tetris,
and NO not on the gameboy you dimwit..

JUST WATCH! And you'll know why...

---------------------------------------

The game is called...

HUMAN TETRIS!

Human Tetris

In this game, players have to find a way to pass through
silhouette shapes that have been cut out of a moving wall.

If you fail to pass through them,
you'll end up whacked into a body of water.

It's so bloody hilarious that I couldn't stop laughing.
Some of them are totally impossible to get through!

We should try it sometime.. Haha.

Urban Camouflage

How do the Japanese fight crime?
With a vending machine disguise, of course!

I'M SORRY, WHAT?

HERE'S A SCENARIO...

I'm following you...

Have you ever had the feeling that you're being followed?
You turn back and see a weirdo pacing a few metres behind you.

Well, a human's instict would tell you to run away but wait,
he's breaking into a run too! You need to hide from him, but where?

... AND THE SOLUTION?

Aya Tsukioka

JAPANESE Fashion Designer, Aya Tsukioka
has launched a new line of fashion apparels that
fights crime in name of fashion justice!

Take a look at these pictures below and
you'll understand what i'm trying to get at.

The Camo Vending Machine Bag
The Camo Vending Machine Bag

The Camo Fire Extinguisher Bag
The Camo Fire Extinguisher Bag

UNBELIEVABLE!

You've got to give it to the Japs for being plain creative.
The idea of using your bag to camouflage yourself? OMG...

But, i guess this gimmick can only work in Japan,
where vending machines are in abundance.

Japan!
Weird, yet ingenious...
