Singapore Day 2008 in Melbourne

Pictures shall speak.
I know it's kinda late but it is a one-time event held only in Melbourne. The previous Singapore Day in 2007 was held in New York; where popular bloggers or even celebrities were invited. For Melbourne's Singapore Day, we had ol time favs like Phua Chu Kang Family, and some celebrities. Looking at this lil greenery, we see lil' Singapore.....

there are certainly more food, but everything kinda ran out before i could get to them. :(

the layout of the whole event can be found on sgday website.

for this event, the MRT Stations and some popular

hangouts were implemented in the location of each booth.

You feel like Singapore becos you get to see places like:

Dempsey Hill, Chinatown, etc

Yet already, a few months have passed.

Anavil left for home, Monica in Melbourne, Jane and Serr in Perth, then Striders offshore for studies. Everyone's leaving for a lil break from the sunny island. But, I guess, like what serr said, we still heart our home country.

National Day Celebration in Melbourne

Here is how I celebrated National Day in Melbourne! How "exciting" I thought it would be... :( Anyways, the whole place was flooded by Singaporeans. Look at their behaviour and u will know. Unfortunately, I did not take much pictures of the crowd! We also had our very own Singapore Idol, Daphne to host the show! :) This was how the lil auditorium looks like: Apparently, I thought they stressed alot on the dress code, and I thought the event would be really fun! I spent a long time finding Red red in my wardrobe. SO this was what I wore! Our tickets for entry, with details of the event! we cant host the event without any Singapore Flag. we were also told that these flags were FLOWN IN BY AIR from Singapore. How nice! Labour Day with my bestie, at theQian Hu fish farm. Finally, somethingout of the urban lifestyle.



It was a fishy afternoon and we had a funtime doing the fish spa, but Est's damn lousyand freaked out everytime the fishes camenear her,and that chased my fishes away.



But luckily, she became human enoughto enjoy the fishes after awhile, and shestole my fishes away. Dammit!

Yes, she's a peacock, and a funny one too. Shelikes walking around the canteen all the time. Everymorning will reach school about half an hour earlierfor breakfast, and she, is always walking aroundme, curious over what I'm eating.
