Saying No To Anorexia

SOME of you may have seen this billboard,
and some of you may not have done so.

But nevertheless, it has raised curious eyebrows
and brought many to the attention of ANOREXIA
and the methods of shock advertising.

Say NO To Anorexia!

Italian designer Nolita celebrated
MILAN FASHION WEEK
last year with a number of ads featuring
a naked anorexia woman in an effort to
warn the public of the effects of the disease.

------------------------------------------------

The ad featured twenty-seven year old French woman
Isabelle Caro, an anorexic who weighs just 31 kg.

Isabelle has been anorexic since 13
and blames a “difficult childhood” for her
bout with the deadly disorders:

“I’ve hidden myself and covered myself for too long.
Now I want to show myself fearlessly, even though
I know my body arouses repugnance. I want to recover
because I love life and the riches of the universe. I want
to show young people how dangerous this illness is.”

------------------------------------------------

You know, when i first saw that picture, i went WTF!
It really shocked me to see how bad anorexia can
damage a person's health, and I really admired Isabelle’s
strength and bravery in coming out to challenge herself
and tell the world her story. Her willingness to help
herself is amazing and i'm sure her perseverance
will be a beacon of hope to the many others out there
fighting anorexia and saving themselves.

Be HEALTHY!

Anorexia is an addiction, it can be conquered.
Being way too skinny is just so not cool.
Stay beautiful by being healthy.

------------------------------------------------

Although there have been many nasty comments outed
since this controversial ad campaign, i guess it has
to be expected as this is no ordinary topic.

Say NO To SKINNY!

Nevertheless, the message is clear,
it's time to get healthy, it's time to say...

SAY NO TO
ANOREXIA!
